Wierd Fruit

I found this fruit nearby the river. I am not sure whether it is a wild fruits or planted by the local people in the village.

Anyone can help me to identify this fruit?

I don't know if I'm even close to being right, but maybe it's dragon fruit(pitaya). I did a Google image search, and those look similar to yours. I'm, of course, not familiar with either of them, but maybe they're related to each other. Or maybe I'm completely wrong. :)
